MaxFactor Colour Elixir Lipstick Review

I’ve absolutely fallen for these lipsticks.  Honestly, hands down, in love.

MaxFactor Color Elixir Lipsticks

I have the two shades, Mulberry (Left) and Chilli (Right), pictured above.  These lipsticks have great pigmentation and apply so easily, they’re just a joy to use.   I bought both of mine at boots for £7.99, you can however buy these at Superdrug or other high street retailers.

These lipsticks wear well throughout the day, like most lipsticks they do transfer.  However, after multiple cups of tea and glasses of water, I’ve noticed my lipstick is still firmly in place!  So even with the transfer, some colour remains.  Re-application is very easy, just another swipe and your lipstick looks as first as the first application.  There is little drying out of lips, making these great for winter when our lips are being abused by the harsh weather!

I’ve done some swatches below.

Top: Mulberry; Bottom: Chilli

As you can see these have a lovely sheen of them.  So if you’re wearing a mainly matte look, it’s nice to add a nice sheen of colour in your lipstick – these are just that!

So below are lip swatches, you can understand my love!  I’ve applied two coats and blotted between the 1st & 2nd coat.

No lipstick
Mulberry
Chilli

I think these are very wearable statement lips.  Beautiful strong colour, without being too harsh.  I am quite fair, so these really make my lips stand out.  I normally wear just some eyeliner or a simple bronzed smokey daytime eye and pair the look with either of these lipsticks.
