Only a few favourites this month and one favourite will likely come as a bit of a surprise!
Lets start with the skin care
I’ve been really loving the Clinique Take the Day off cleansing balm. This has a smoother texture to the Emma Hardie cleansing balm. It does an absolutely fantastic job of removing all traces of makeup and it hasn’t irritated my skin at all. I will have a review on this soon I promise. All in all though, I love it! The second skin care item is La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo. This has been an absolute life saver recently. My skin has been angry and breaking out all over the place, this tube of goodness has helped to calm everything down and it’s all now on the mend. Very few traces of breakouts left! I would really recommend checking this stuff out. As with everything, it may not work for you, it has worked fantastically for me.
Now for Makeup!
A special mention needs to be made of the utterly wonderful Vice 2 palette from Urban Decay. As with all Urban Decay eyeshadows, this palette is filled with creamy, pigmented, beautiful colours. Some of these have a Duo chrome, some are just metallic, others have a matte finish. All in all, this is a fantastic palette and I am very pleased to have it in my collection! Next up is the Le Volume De Chanel mascara from Chanel (bit obvious there…). This mascara really lengthens and adds great volume to my lashes without clumping. It lasts well throughout the day and I rarely have issues with it dropping down when I wear it on my bottom lashes. This is just a sample size, I am seriously considering buying the full size when I have worked through my current stash of mascaras. The last makeup favourite is a combination of products. The mattifying serum primer from Bourjois and the YSL Le Teint Touche Eclat. They both have their faults that stopped me using them, however they work really well as a team. The primer mattifies my oily skin enough that the YSL foundation now lasts for about 6 hours on my skin – previously I was lucky if it lasted 4! Also because the primer leaves my skin matte, the foundation now adds just the right about of “glow” without looking oily. I will only ever wear this combo on days that I know I won’t be touching my face too much as I still have issues with the primer getting swiped off. I’m just really pleased that I’m getting more use out of this foundation!
The final thing to mention is the beauty sponge from Crown Brushes. It took me quite a while to get around to using this on a regular basis. I have to say I’m very glad I did make myself use it more. I now use it with most of my liquid foundations! It’s looking a bit grubbing in the picture (sorry!), but I use it so much, it’s rarely clean for very long!
So that’s it for this month’s favourites. If you’ve any questions please shout. I’ve also done a favourites video, you can check that out down below.
