Favourite New Cream Blushes

Cream Blushes
Recently I’ve had a few additions to my cream blush collection, so I thought I’d share my thoughts on them and also include a few older cream blushes that have really stood the test of time!

Cream Blushes
First up, Josie Maran Coconut Water Cheek Gelee. I got this in the swap with Rebecca, I was delighted as I’ve been dying to try it out for a while.  As you can see from the swatches below (top swatch closes my wee finger), it’s quite a pinky/red blush and acts like a stain on the skin.  I’ve found the best way to apply this is with a stipple brush – I use elf’s small stipple brush and it applies really nicely.  You only need to dab your brush in there once, then onto the back of your hand before applying to your cheeks.  A little goes a long way with this blush and it lasts all day.  Love it!   The middle swatch is Bourjois cream blush in 03 Rose Tender.  This is one that has lasted the test of time, I purchased this when they were first released and I still love it.  It is a lovely creamy texture and I just use my fingers to dab it onto my cheeks.  It gives a lovely soft pink glow to my cheeks.  It doesn’t last as long as the Cheek Gelee but it does last for about 6 hours on my cheeks.  The pot is so small that it’s easy to pop in your purse for any touch-ups if needed!  The bottom swatch is another Bourjois cream blush in 01 Nude Velvet, which is a recent addition.  This is a lovely peachy toned blush which I also apply with my fingers.  It has similar staying powder and subtle pigmentation, I did about 3 swipes to get the swatch below.

Next up is one of my all time favourite cream blushes, By Terry Blush Velouté in Apple Glow. This adds just a lovely warm glow to my cheeks and it stays all day, it has great pigmentation and it’s really easy to apply – I just use my fingers (surprise there!).  The bottom swatch is Maybelline’s Master Glaze Blush Stick in Coral Sheen.  This is much more peachy with a teeny tiny amount of glitter in it, it’s barely noticeable in my opinion.  I dab the stick straight onto my cheeks, only applying a small amount and then blend out with my fingers.  You could just use your fingers on the stick and then dab your cheeks.  This wears about the same amount of time as the Bourjois cream blushes.  A little bit goes a very long way with this, so only use a small amount to start with.

So those are my current favourite cream blushes! If you’ve any questions please shout.  You can check out the video below if you’d like a close look.
