This month I’ve been playing with pairing up different makeup. So this month I have a few favourite pairings! I’ll start with the skin care. I’ve been really enjoying using the Vichy Normaderm Night Detox*, I use this as my night time moisturiser. This is aimed at blemish prone skin and so far I’ve seen a marked improvement since using this product, I spreads really nicely, so you don’t need to use much. Expect a review soon! From The Body Shop I have the Hemp Hand Protector*, I only bought this recently (post here), but I’ve been using it religiously every night and it has already cleared the odd rash I had on my hand and my hands are in much better condition, definitely recommend checking this out for Winter.
On to the makeup. For foundation I have been using the Covergirl Outlast Stay Fabulous foundation in Ivory. I’ve had this a while but I’ve been using it a lot this month, it gives great coverage and now my skin is a bit lighter and drier, this foundation has been a great colour match, lasting most of the day. There is a UK version, the Maxfactor Face Finity* foundation. To conceal my blemishes I have been mixing my mac Pro Longwear and NARS Radiant creamy concealer*. The NARS concealer lightens the mac concealer, matching the Covergirl foundation really well.
For lips I have two combos I’ve been loving, first the day time look. It’s the elf Studio Matte lip colour in Natural, which is normally a bit too pale on my lips, however if I put No7 High Shine lip crayon* in Delicate Pink over the top I get a lovely soft pink colour that has a bit of a shine. I’ve worn this quite a few times this month. The other lip combo is the Barry M Lip Liner in 3 and the Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick* in F-Bomb, fabulous bold statement lip. If you are going to wear a red lip, a lip liner is a must. The lipstick is a lovely blue toned red and the lip liner is slightly more warm toned, so together they’re a great red. I used them in the recent 50s Inspired Glam Look tutorial, you can check it out for a closer look of the colour.
Finally for eyeshadow. My Tarte Amazonian clay BeMATTEnificent palette has made a come back again this month. This palette is great for everyday neutral eye looks, I started a new job this month and didn’t want anything too OTT, so this was perfect. I used most of the neutral shades, often then using the plummy colour along my lashline – it made a nice change to brown or black. The blush that’s included gives a lovely soft flush of colour to my cheeks and goes with most looks. I think this was a limited edition palette, but if you come across it, definitely pick it up!
That is it for this month’s favourites, you can check out the video below if you’d like to see swatches of the lip colours.
