February Favourites

So it’s already time to chat about my favourite products for the month of February!  I’ve been wearing minimal makeup this month but I’ve tested out a few products, as well as shopping my stash and discovering old favourites.

For base I’ve been loving the Sleek Control Shine & Prime* as my primer.  This has really helped my foundations last much longer and keeps my greasy areas at bay.  It applies really nicely and evens out my skin texture.  Love it and I’ve a full review coming up this week.

For the days I’ve been in a rush I’ve been reaching for the Ginvera Green Tea BB Cream.  I’ve had this a while and didn’t initially love it, but I’ve come around to it.  I just apply it with my fingers and it evens out my skin tone nicely, leaving it with a healthy glow.

To set my makeup I’ve been using the Urban Decay De-Slick Mattifying Powder*.  This generally lived in my hand bag for touch ups during the day, but I’ve started to use it more in the mornings.  I tend to use the puff and just really press the powder into the puff, flicking off any access and then pressing it into my face.  I use a fluffy brush to take any access off my face.  This again has been really help my makeup last longer.  It has made a massive difference.

For cheeks I have elf blush in Berry Merry.  I’ve been wearing this by itself, or lightly over other blushes.  It’s a cult favourite for a reason.  I’ve had this the longest time and I reach for it more often throughout the winter months.  It also helps to match my hair tone more, adding a cooler berry tone to my skin.  Plus a bargain at under £4.  Annoyingly I forgot to swatch it because I was wearing it in the video, but you can see it on my cheeks there.

For lips I have two quite nude pink lip colours, as you can see from the swatches above.  From Mac I have a cremesheen lipstick in Hot Gossip. This is a “my lips but better” colour.  It wears really nicely and I often wear it over Rimmel Exaggerate lip liner* in Eastend Snob.  It’s lovely and creamy on the lips.  I mentioned this in my Mac Lipstick Collection post, so you can pop over there for a look at my other mac lipsticks.

Finally for lips is the Jordana Twist & Shine* balm stain in Honey Love.  This is quite moisturising on the lips, exactly what is needed in this cold weather.  This is really easy to apply & reapply throughout the day, no mirror needed.  It adds just enough colour to even out my lips and cover some of the freckles along the edges of my lips.  It also leaves a bit of a nice gloss to my lips too.
So that’s it for my favourites, you can check out the video below if you want to see some of the products on my face.  On a side note.  Thank you for your patience while I’ve been away and thank you for all your kindness.

Thanks for reading!
