Sleek Control Shine & Prime

I’ve had this little gem in my collection for a while, unopened.  It’s the Sleek Makeup Control Shine & Prime*.  This retails at £7.99 for 15ml.  I was lucky enough to get this as part of my goodie bag from the Bloggers Tea Party.  It had already made an appearance in my February Favourites and is rapidly becoming a Holy Grail product.

The Blurb

This lightweight formula primes skin perfectly for flawless makeup application, the luxurious velvety texture minimises the look of pores and imperfections.  It is easy to apply and completely undetectable on the skin leaving a shine-free, flawless complexion.

The innovative primer can be used alone or before makeup to control excess oil.

My Thoughts

I do agree that it is lightweight, it doesn’t feel at all heavy on my skin and it applies evenly.  I have noticed my makeup lasting much longer with various foundations, which is great.  It does breakdown after about 8hours around my nose and centre of my forehead, but that’s not bad at all.  My Dior and Covergirl foundations apply nicely over this primer too, another win.  I think it evens out my skin texture, minimising the look of pores without actually clogging them up or causing any skin irritation.
It has a creamy consistency, with more of an almost powder finish.   I’ve popped a blob on the back of my hand so you can see, if you’d like to see how it applies you can check out the video below.  Sometimes with mattifying primers you might end up with it balling on your skin.  I didn’t have that issue with this primer, if it did get a tad lumpy I was easily able to smooth it back into my skin

All in all I really like this primer, my only wish is that it came in a bigger tube.  I will undoubtedly purchase this when I run out.  It’s great for those of us with combo/oily skin,  I’m not sure how it will work for those with drier skin types.
