A Face of Impressions!

Cover

I’ve been trying out some recent purchases, so I thought it might be fun to do a face of impressions for you!  I have seen some other bloggers do this and it seems the most sensible  way to discuss multiple products in one post!  So let’s start with the eyes.

I’d been keeping my eyes peeled for the L’Oreal Paris La Palette Nude* in Beige and was delighted when I finally laid hands on it.  Sadly, I think because I’d been so excited about it, it hasn’t lived up to my expectations.  The matte shades have reasonably good pigmentation, although do require some building up, the shimmery shades are not as good.  The copper and bronze shimmery shades are the only two I’d use as the silver makes my eyelids look very wrinkly and the gold doesn’t have great payoff.  I have the bronze shade all over my lid, with the brown shade to the left of it on the outer third of my eye and up into my crease.  The shadows in this palette do wear well throughout the day, only really breaking up towards the end of the day.  I do prefer the matte shades over the shimmer shade, I’m also not sure if I would recommend this palette, I would prefer a Sleek palette, although I am sure I will use this up.

I also got a new mascara in the post, the No7 Midnight Lash Mascara*.  I used it for the first time and based on initial impressions, I really quite like it!  It was quite a creamy consistency, so not too wet or too dry.  The wand is an interesting shape but it does allow you to get right in at the base of your lashes.  It coats my lashes well and does add some volume – although I didn’t really layer it on to see what it could do.  I think this will be replacing my Lancome Hypnose Volume for now!   On my lower lashes I used the Clinique Bottom Lash mascara*, I’ve been meaning to try this out for the longest time and I’m glad I finally did.  It is quite a wet formula which I was surprised about, but it didn’t transfer down onto my lower lids.  It wears pretty well to but I do have a few dots of mascara by the end of my working day.  I doubt I’ll repurchase this once I’ve finished it, but I am glad I have tried it!

Lastly for eyes I’m using the Soap & Glory Archery Brow Tint and Precision Pencil* in Brownie Points.  I’m actually a bit in love with the Tint, it does such a nice job and helping shape my brows without having to apply lots of product.  I thought this was being discontinued but thankfully I had my wires entirely crossed.  I tend to use this most days, I’m not really a fan of the pencil side but love the tint side.  Maybe I should check out a pomade…

I have the Max Factor Creme Puff Blush* in Seductive Pink on my cheeks and I think it might be love.  I can now see what the fuss is all about!  This is lovely to apply, blends out well, great pigmentation and it adds a lovely glow to my skin.  Thoroughly enjoy it and will definitely be checking out more of them.

Finally I have the Soap & Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Pillow Plump XXL* in Pinkwell.  There is serious tingling with this, I mean serious.  I actually thought that I was having an allergic reaction the first time I used it because it was going on so long.  Turns out I wasn’t!  This is a very glossy product and it does plump my lips slightly.  I only have a small top lip, so there’s not much to work with, but I think it does an alright job.  I did notice though as I was editing the video footage that it is definitely gloopy.  Not attractive!! So something to be aware of and I will be much more aware of it in future.  I’ve very much come to love the zingy, tingling!

So that’s it!  Mini reviews of each of the products on my face.  If you’ve any questions please let me know down below!
