Bright, Bold Eye Look

Makeup Used

I tried something a bit different on my eyes recently.  You may have seen it in the last video, I just felt like colouring in my eyes.  I’ve tried to take pictures to explain what I’ve done.

Eyeliner Outline

I started by drawing the outline with a light blue Barry M pencil that is sadly no longer available, but you could use any light blue cream eyeliner or shadow.  I went slightly above my crease and extended the line in an oval, I also continued the line past my tear duct and along the inside of my nose.  Once happy with the shape I filled in the inner two thirds of my eyelid and then I used a Rimmel’s Kohl pencil in Denim Blue to fill in the outer third, leaving the light blue line visible.  I used Naked 2 from Urban Decay’s Basics Palette* just above the blue liner and blended it out, then using W.O.S from the same palette to blend from the crease up to my brows.  This stops the blue looking quite so harsh.

WithShadow

From Sleek iDivine Ultra Matte 1 palette*, I used a pale blue over the light liner to help it set, making it easier to blend other shadows on top.  I took the medium blue shadow and I blended that in the middle, covering the join between the light blue and the navy.  From Seventeen I used a single shadow in Regal* with a flat shader brush and popped it on over the navy liner.  I gradually built this colour up and blended it with the medium blue.    I then went over two thirds of my inner eyelid and along the top light blue line with Barry M Dazzle Dust in 78.  This just made the blue pop and again help blend it all a bit nicer.

FinishedShadow

I decided to add a touch of gold, I used the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide on pencil* in Eldorado along the lash line, bringing it out in line with the navy and blue eyeshadow.  I then took the Urban Decay eyeshadow in Half Baked over inner two thirds of my lower lash line, blending into another eyeshadow from Urban Decay, Chopper on the outer third of the lower line.

Finished Eyes

I applied a couple of coats of No7 Midnight Lash* mascara on my top lashes and Clinique Bottom Lash mascara* on the bottom lashes.  You could definitely add some false lashes to this look for more of an impact, I just didn’t have any lash glue.  I kept the rest of my makeup quite simple so as not to detract from the eye look.

FullFace

I quite like how it turned out!  If you’ve any questions please let me know in the comments below.  You can watch the tutorial video below if you want to see how it’s all done.
