June Favourites & Fail

June Makeup Favourites

I’ve been experimenting with lip colours quite a bit this month and I’ve rediscovered a few lip products that work really well with my new hair colour.  I’ve also been testing out new primers and I’ve a few other makeup items that I’ve loved this month!

Let’s start with the base products first.  I have two primers, The Body Shop’s All In One Istablur* and the No7 Instant Illusions Airbrush Away*.  I’ve already done a full review of the Instablur, it took me a while to come around to this primer but it’s a great smoothing primer.  The No7 primer is quite hydrating and great for those days when I’m wearing a lighter foundation.  I resorted to cutting my Ginvera Green Tea Nude Cover BB Cream* in half, just to make sure I got everything out.  I have worn this majority of June and I have no doubt I will repurchase it in future.  I’ve rediscovered the Milani Baked Blush In Luminoso*, I’ve been wearing more peach and coral toned lipsticks and this blush works really well with them, without being too intense.  For mascara I’ve been enjoying Rituals Volume Mascara, this gives great volume with just one coat and with a second coat it gives really dramatic lashes.

Lipstick Swatches

On to the lip products! First up the the Sleek True Colour lipstick in Exxxagerate*, which is a matte lavender purple.  It’s great to pair with a pink lipstick or lip gloss over the top.  I think with my new hair colour it’s easier to wear fun colourful lipsticks.  I’ve also been loving wearing corals this month, two in particular.  Revlon Colorburst Balm Stain in Rendezvous* (top centre swatch) and Jordana Twist & Shine Balm Stain in Candid Coral* (top right swatch).  These add a lovely pop of colour, are easy to reapply and quite moisturising on my lips.  Plus easy to throw in my handbag.  My Estée Lauder Pure Colour Envy Sculpting lipstick in Powerful has been making regular appearances in June, it’s a lovely soft pink.  The last lipstick is Feed the Senses, which is a lustre finish lipstick from mac which is unfortunately limited edition.  It’s a great taupe shade, which I can pair over more vibrant lips, but I’ve also discovered I can wear it by itself now that I’ve dyed my hair.

The last favourite of the month has been #vlune.  I decided to post more regular on our vlog channel.  I’ve had such fun learning more about filming and I’ve a few exciting vlogging projects coming up with friends, which I can’t wait to share with you all!

We’re going to finish with a fail this month.  It’s The Body Shop Vitamin C Daily Moisturiser*.  This is another product I’ve done a review post on quite recently.  Sadly this moisturiser was too rich for my skin and it clogged up my large pores.  You can check out the review post for more information on it.

You can check out the video below if you fancy a closer look at anything.  I’d love to know what your monthly favourites have been and if you’ve any makeup recommendations please drop them in a comment below.  Thanks for reading!

    1. I’ve not tried either of those! I’m still figuring out how to use salt spray and make it work for my hair, it always ends up looking like a bird’s nest if I’m not careful!
