Let’s have a closer look at one of the Ultra 32 Shade Flawless Matte eyeshadow palette from Makeup Revolution..So review and swatches you say?
First let’s cover the basics. This retails for £8* and you get 32 shades and 16gs of product. It has sturdy packaging with a firm click close, which is very satisfying. It also has a mirror that’s the full width of the lid, which is very useful. So far it’s shaping up to be an utter bargain! The eyeshadows themselves are quite creamy to swatch with your finger. I’ve swiped the colours across about 3 times in the pictures below, just so you could get a good idea of the colour. They are however, quite powdery, so expect some fall out on your palette when you swirl your brush in it. Thankfully there isn’t much fall down on your face! I have done the swatches from the top row, left to right working my way down row by row.
Most of the eyeshadows have pretty decent pigmentation, although as you might expect, the lighter shades need a few extra coats to get a stronger payoff. All of the colours blend out really well and they last well throughout the day with minimal creasing. Just make sure you’ve a decent eyelid primer – I’ve been loving the Smashbox Photo Finish Lid Primer recently, you can read more about it over on my review post.
All in all I would recommend this palette, it’s quite cool toned, so that would be my one improvement. A nice warm toned medium brown. You can get some day looks out of this palette by itself, or you can use it a companion palette for other eyeshadows. You can check out the video below if you’d like to see a quick clip of me applying just these eyeshadows for a day look. Or you can check out this post for a look at a day look that I did using this palette along with a Soap & Glory palette.
