I have to say October has been a hectic month and I am utterly delighted for it to draw to a close. I enjoyed myself and definitely achieved some of my goals, but I’m looking forward to getting back to some sort of routine in November. OK so favourites for the month?! Almost every single one of them is a new product and I’ve even thrown in a new lifestyle favourite too! You lucky people. Let’s start with a long standing favourite that reappears every few months, the Sephora Primal Eyeshadow palette. I don’t think you can purchase this any more, however, if you have it in your stash, you should dig it out! I got this in my swap with Rebecca from Rebecca Lately over a year ago and I still love it. Now on to some of the new additions!
I recently went to the Bloggers Beauty Awards and came away with a whole host of new products to try, I may have fallen for a few of them. First up is the NYX HD Studio Finishing Powder, I’ve been setting my concealer and face in general with this, it keeps everything in place without looking cakey. For my eyebrows I’ve come around to the NYX Micro brow pencil in blonde*, I very much went off pencils for a long time but this won me back. It has a tiny nib, soft enough to place product on the face but hard enough that it doesn’t just melt onto your face. Also it has a decent spoolie on the other end! I’ve a swatch of it on the far right of the picture below. Another product I’ve had since my swap with Rebecca, the Jordana Best Lash Extreme* mascara. This is a great wee mascara, it’s really easy to layer up and adds great volume. It does drop down a wee bit but I’ve yet to find a mascara that doesn’t smudge along my lower lash line.
I’ve a few lip products to share this month. I’ve been thoroughly enjoying using my Urban Decay 24/7 Glide on Lip Pencil in Venom under most of my berry coloured lip products. Speaking of berry coloured lip products, I’ve been loving the NYX Chunky Dunk Hydrating Lippie* in Pomegranate Margarita. So hydrating and easy to wear, I can almost get away with applying this without a mirror! It’s perfect for the autumnal season. Another hydrating product I’ve been adoring for lips, the Dr Paw Paw original balm*, this stuff rocks, I can now see what the fuss is all about. Definitely a must have product to see you through the winter! The final favourite is this Sleek Creme to Powder blush* in French Rose. I need to do a full review on this blush. It’s perfect for those minimal days, I use a small stipple brush to apply it. It wears from about 7.30am – 5pm, so a full day at work! Perfect and it adds such a lovely natural flush to the cheeks. Definitely recommend checking it out.
Finally for my lifestyle favourite! I have been utterly loving and I mean this, The Happiness Project audiobook. I’ve been trying to improve my overall happiness. I seem quite a positive person from the outside, inside I have so many negative things spinning around and sending my brain off into negative tangents. So my aim at the minute, to regain some sort of control, to improve my inner happiness. I’ve listened to his once already and I’m listening to it a second time. It has really hit a cord. There is no pretence, she talks about those moments that she fails to maintain her cool, or when she’s having a negative moment. It’s working for me and I’m thinking of doing my own happiness project post, I’ve already started a notebook with ideas and thoughts.
So that’s it for my monthly favourites! What have been your favourites? Any you think I should investigate? Have we shared any favourites? Thanks a million for reading, chat soon!
