April Favourites

April Favourites

Can you believe it’s another month down!  Spring has started to poke through and I’m already dreaming of warm summer days.  Enough of that, let’s focus of the products I’ve been loving for April!  Let’s start with skin care, I’ve become more and more obsessed with skin care.  I have the Temple Spa In The Beginning Deep Cleansing Melt.  I use this for my second cleanse every evening.  This makes me think of the Emma Hardie Cleansing balm, however this balm has little exfoliating beads.  I love how this cleans my skin, while still leaving it feeling very nourished and soft.  There is a tiny amount of residue, it’s not greasy or horrible feeling and I tend to tone after which removed that little bit of residue.  I will do a full blown review on a few of these products very soon, I promise.  Definitely recommend checking out the cleansing melt if you have issue with congested skin.  I have two products I use to moisturise and hydrate my skin at night.  If my skin is feeling OK, not particuarly dry and just needs some moisture, I will reach for the Trilogy CoQ10 Booster Oil*.  I wake in the morning and my skin feels  very soft, this doesn’t clog up my skin and generally I’ve noticed my skin looking more awake and in better condition.  If my skin is in need of a bit more hydration at night I will use The Body Shop Oils of Life Sleeping Cream.  This is actually surprisingly light weight but incredibly hydrating and moisturising.  Excellent if you need that bit of extra umph.  All these skin care products have massively helped to plump up my skin and even everything out.  This has been the most settled my skin has been!….although I’ve now said that out loud….fingers crossed it stays that way!

OK onto the makeup!  I’m very much in love with my IsaDora  Eye Color Bar in Nude Essentials*,  I even used it in a recent Minimal Glowy Spring Look!  The colours are so creamy and pigmented, the shadows are an absolute joy to use, the apply so nicely and blend out easily.  Definitely recommend checking these out.  The second eyeshadow palette is the Maybelline The Blushed Nude* palette.  I’ve been reaching for this when I’ve not used the IsaDora palette.  Mostly the bottom row with all the colours!  These shadows are really quite pigmented, although the darker shadows are not quite as pigmented.  These shadows blend out really nicely and can also be built up.  I’ve noticed as my eyes age that some shimmer shadows just do not sit well on my eyelids,  I have to go for decent shadows!  Both of these palettes fit the bill and actually look good on my eyelids! Win!

Lip Product Swatches

We’re now on to lip products.  I’ve been going for a lot of nudes this month on my lip but these have been the two stand out products.  From mac cosmetics I have a cremesheen lipstick in Hot Gossip, this is quite a mid-toned pink.  It’s very similar to my lip colour, maybe a touch lighter, but basically a nice nude for me.  The second lip product is the L’Oreal Mega Gloss in Protest Queen, which is a cream finish.  I wear this a lot over my mainly nude pencils – so for example the Urban Decay lip liner in Paranoid.  This can also be used to nude down a more vibrant colour.  It’s also lovely and creamy on the lips without being sticky at all!  I’ve actually done a review post L’Oreal Mega Gloss – Must have!, so you can check that out if you want to look at more of the glosses.

So that’s it for the month of April!  I’ve already started trying out new products for May!! You gotta love the change in seasons, lots of new fun products to try!  Woot
