New Morning Skin Care

Morning Skin Care

I’ve had quite an influx of skin care products recently and I couldn’t resist adding them to my morning and evening routines.  How could I resist with these goodies sitting on the shelf.  I’ve been taking a minimal approach to my morning routine, I just like to refresh it and use it to help wake me up!  So to blow away any cobwebs I’ve been using the Vichy Pureté Thermale Fresh cleansing gel*.  I take it on damp hands and then lather it up on my face.  You only need a small amount of this gel, seriously. I just rinse it off and pat my skin dry.  This leaves my skin feeling clean and soft to the touch, no dryness in sight.   I’ve only had this a few weeks but I’ve been thoroughly enjoying it.

Once I’ve cleansed I’ve been reaching for The Body Shop Drops of Youth Youth Essence Lotion*.  I was delighted when I discovered this in my goody bag from The Body Shop’s 40th Birthday event.  I have been using this as a toner, it feels like it’s doing all sorts of good things for my skin.  It is thicker in consistency than your average toner, which is nice as it means you don’t pour too much onto your cotton pad.  It absorbs quite quickly into the skin, leaving it feeling refreshed and hydrated.  I’ve been trying out a few essence lotions and I quite enjoy them.  I sometimes use them with other toners, especially when my skin is looking a bit lack lustre.

I’m still using the Eloquence Firming & Moisturising Eye Gel.  This was my favourite product from the Eloquence skin care line, I’ve done a lovely full review post for you.  This is light on the skin, but it has done wonders for the dry skin around my eyes.  I no longer have any dry patches, or issues with cracked skin.  It’s wonderful, definitely recommend checking it out.

For my daily moisturiser I’ve been testing out two, the Moo Goo Anti-aging SPF15 Face Cream and the Pure Potions Skin Salvation Daily Moisturising Cream.  Both are natural face creams, which is always a good thing.  I got them both from the Brighton Blogger Meet Up.  The Moo Goo face cream is thicker in consistency.  I try to use the minimal amount when I apply this.  It absorbs quickly but it can sometimes feel a wee bit heavy on the skin.  Great for those days when my skin is feeling drier than normal.  I’ve been using the Pure Potions daily moisturising cream more often.  It’s lighter in consistency and feels lightweight on the skin, leaving my skin feeling soft to the touch.  It does a great job of keeping my skin hydrated throughout the day.  I’ll definitely be investigating a full size of this in the future.

So that’s a quick sneak peek at the new skin care products I’m testing out!  Are you testing any new skin care that you’d recommend?  If you’d like to see the products in action, you can check out the video below.
