Talk of Tea

I recently popped along to a wonderfully quaint tea shop called, Talk of Tea.  It’s tucked away on Spring Street in the centre of town and it’s a bit of a find.  There is a huge selection of teas available and the staff are more than happy to talk you through the choices available to help you find the right tea for you.  Shall we talk about the excellent tea I tried?  Seriously, I may need to set up a standing order.  I tried the Rooibos Banana Cupcake tea, it was utterly divine.  Not too sweet, not too strong, just perfect.  Did I mention the selection of cake available?    And there’s gluten free options!!  I had a warmed gluten free brownie.

I loved the interiors, it definitely has that Brighton vibe, lots of oddness and vibrancy.  Everything from the brightly coloured walls and teapots to the rustic outdoor area.   There are jars of loose tea lining the walls and soft squishy sofas, it has all the makings of a perfect quiet haven to escape the madness of Brighton city centre.  I think it might be an excellent place to read a good book on a rain day too.

Did I mention the excellent warm chocolate brownie?  It was wonderful.  I cannot recommend popping in enough.  They also do cream teas and I’ve had it from a good friend that the scones are a bit epic.  You can book the it out for private parties, for workshops or just group parties.  They’re also going to start selling their teas online very soon, I’m so excited!  Although I can always pop in if I need to.

All in all I would recommend popping in for a cuppa and discover somewhere new.  Definitely worth a wee visit.  I will undoubtedly be popping back, it may become my new haunt on the day I work from home.  Did I mention the free wifi?  It’s so nice to have an alternative to all of the coffee houses popping up.
