Makeup Decluttering Part Three | Brushes, Liners & Polishes

Decluttering my Makeup Part 3

I’ve decluttered the last of my makeup collection!  Finally!  This time it’s makeup brushes, eyeliners, lipliners and nail polishes. All the high fives!  You can read Makeup Decluttering Part One | Eyeshadow, Blusher & Highlight or Makeup Decluttering Part Two | Lips & Base, to see how I faired decluttering the rest of my makeup collection.  For now, shall we start with makeup brushes?  Good choice.

Makeup Brushes

I’m a fan of makeup brushes, you can probably tell.  Even more unsurprising, I actually use about 90% of them!  You can tell from the amount of dirty brushes on the left.  I checked for any that were losing hair, or maybe they’ve become a bit loose in the barrel.  Maybe they don’t wash well anymore or have become more textured.  Or, maybe they just don’t work particularly well.   I did manage to chuck a few, I can see more of my brushes now I’ve cleared the clutter that wee bit.  I’ll undoubtedly get rid of more over time.

Liners

With my eyeliners and lipliners I got swatching.  I checked for any that had dried up or colours that I never wore – I discovered a liquid liner that was still in it’s original packaging over a year later.  Woeful.  At least I managed to declutter a small amount, what can I say, I’m clearly a fan of liners.  I did get rid of 3 of my gel liners, leaving only a teal shade from NYX.  They were definitely past their best sadly.

Nail Polishes

Speaking of things I’m a fan of…yes nail polishes too.  I was surprised to find a number of dupes in my collection.  I rarely buy dupes, unless it’s a nail polish it would seem.  So once I’d weeded out the dupes and any of the polishes that had gone a bit funny, it would seem I still have a substantial collection.  At least it’s a bit better organised now and it’s more pleasing to the eye.

Getting Rid

So these are all the bits I’m getting rid of.  Anything that is safe to pass on, will undoubtedly go to a good home and anything that isn’t, well that’s going to the bin!  So that’s all of my makeup collection decluttered
