Review: bareMinerals Matte Foundation & Well Rested

My skin has been a bit unhappy in recent months, it had become a bit clogged and oily.  So after watching a video on bareMinerals Well Rested powder I decided to try out bareMinerals again.  So on a whim I popped into the bareMinerals Boutique in Brighton and I picked up the Well Rested powder and decided to try out the matte foundation, I was colour matched to fair.

I’ve been using both of these for over a week now and I absolutely love them.  I’ve noticed a difference in my skin within a few days, all my spots are clearing up and gradually fading again.  I’ve been using the bareMinerals Full Flawless face brush and the Maximum Concealer brush to apply the foundation and the Real Techniques pointed foundation brush to apply the Well Rested powder just below my eyes.

Neither of the products feel heavy on the skin.  With the matte foundation you have to really buff the powder into your skin to stop it looking cakey, more than the original foundation.  I also use this foundation as a concealer, I just use a concealer brush to hide any blemishes or redness.  Both powders are really finely milled and quite soft on the skin.

I normally apply the bareMinerals Prime time face primer all over my face and let it set, then I’ll apply the Hourglass concealer under my eyes, using my fingers to blend it in.  I’ll then apply my foundation and conceal around my nose and any blemishes.  Finally I’ll use the Well Rested under my eye to highlight the area and set the concealer.

This foundation routine last all day and the Well Rested really lightens under my eye and generally brightens my face.   The foundation is £25 and you get 6g of product.  It also has SPF15. The Well Rested is £19 for 0.85g.  Both products will last for at least 6 months, so I think they’re good value for money.
