So I heard that Space NK were having a summer shopping event. I heard this at the worse possible time, I was having an utterly pants day. I’d ripped a hole in my jeans, I’d slept in, generally other things were driving me a bit mental. So taking my list of products that I’d been coveting, I headed over for a Dale Winton style Supermarket sweep shopping mission! (Say that ten times fast).
Let’s start with the skin care products I picked up.
|Emma Hardie, Rodial|
I got the much talked about Emma Hardie Cleansing balm and because I’m a bit of a sucker, I got the “Professional” cloths to go with it. I’ve already started using these and I am so delighted with them! I’m still getting the hang of the balm and working up a cleansing milk from it, but I’m getting there. The cloths also very good. They are a soft face cloth on one side and muslin on the other for exfoliation. I’ve been using the soft side to give myself a mini massage while removing the product.
The Rodial Glamoxy snake face mask was a definite impulse buy and will never be repurchased. That being said, I used it on the weekend and I notice a massive difference within hours of using it. When I got up the next day, my skin felt fabulous! So it is working for me, expect a review soon.
Now onto the makeup bits I picked up!
|Hourglass, Laura Mercier|
I got the now infamous Hourglass face powder in Ethereal Light. This adds a nice glow to my skin without the glitter or shimmer. It’s beautiful on. I do have to wear it with a matte foundation as I’ve oily skin, but it is fabulous on, I’m still trying it out though and will let you know. It does seem to have massive amounts of fallout which is a bit frustrating!
Now the Laura Mercier silk creme foundation…I got this in soft ivory and when I tested it in the shop it looked wonderful. Wearing it everyday however, not so wonderful. I’ve combination/oily skin and I did research online and plenty of people with my skin type praised this foundation – it didn’t break them out, it stayed put, it helped mattify their face. Well it hasn’t done that for my skin at all. I’ve tried it without primer, I’ve so far tried it with bareMinerals primer and Benefit porefessional primer and I’ve set my face in the same way that I set all my other foundations. I even tried different ways of applying! This has broken up on my and I’ve had some breakouts 🙁
I’m still testing so I will do a proper review soon. I’ve a funny feeling I will be donating this to my mam – she has quite dry skin so that may suit her better.
Now onto the fabulous freebies I got with purchase.
I was so impressed with this goodie bag. I originally wanted to purchase the Ren face mask but it was out of stock, thankfully I got a sample size! I got plenty of fabulous samples, which I’m not going to list but you can check out my video below if you want a closer look! I’m so excited to try them all out and I will let you know how I get on!
Thank you lots for reading! Check out the video below if you fancy.
