I only have a few favourites this month to share with you. I have one fail unfortunately.
I’m going to get my fail out of the way, so we can end on a positive note!
My fail is OPI Nail Envy for Sensitive & Peeling nails. I bought this as I suffer badly with peeling nails, I’ve tried all sorts. So I decided to pick this up after hearing great things about the original Nail Envy. I clipped my nails all the way down to remove all the peeling- I had a small amount of peeling on one nail after this. I buff them slightly and generally tidied them to make sure nothing would catch and peel. Then I applied this, reapplying every few days as directed. I did this for weeks. My nails were peeling again within a week. This cost almost £19. It didn’t work at all. I am still going to use this up as a base coat, it’d be a waste of money otherwise. So not impressed.
Now on to fun things! My Favourites!
I’ll start with the two Bdellium Tools brushes. These are both face brushes, the pink brush is a brilliant powder foundation brush, the yellow brush is utterly fabulous for applying my Hourglass Ambient Lighting powder, it’s also incredibly soft. I’ve done a full review of my Bdellium brushes here.
Speaking on Hourglass Ambient Lighting powder, mine has made it back into my favourites. I have the powder in Ethereal Light. This adds such a lovely soft glow to my face without looking oily or shiny. It’s just such a nice product, especially when applied using a light hand and a soft brush. Love it.
I have two Benefit products as favourites this month. First up, badGal mascara in plum. This is a Holy Grail item for me. It always makes my lashes look more volumised, longer, and just generally fabulous. It doesn’t irritate my eyes, lasts well and still cleans away easy with some makeup remover. I’m a fan. The second product is Hervana blush. This should probably be a spring product but I have been reaching for it more recently and have fallen for it all over again. It’s a peachy, pinky, purpley blush. I know, confusing. It also has a small amount of shimmer to it, so it’s a bit of a highlight to! This is a lovely soft toned blush that it is lovely if you just want a light hint of colour. I’ve been loving wearing this on my basic face days. Plus who doesn’t love the smell of Benefit’s blushes!?
Finally for some nail polishes. I recently bought Rimmel’s Too Cool To Tango and I must have applied it at least 3 times in one month. That’s saying something, I’m someone that changes their nails on a regular basis. This is lovely and easy to apply, fully opaque after two coats, dries quickly and lasts for about 4 days – again I chip my nails pretty quickly because of my job and general lack of care, so 4 days is good! I would recommend checking it out. Oh it also has a wider brush, making it really easy to apply!
Lastly we have the cult beauty product Seche Vite. I have a love/hate relationship with this. It does dry much quicker than any previous owned topcoat, but it doesn’t seem to be as strong, so if I’m not careful I could chip a nail within a day of application! Which is not cricket at all in my opinion. So although I have less smudged nails, I have a high risk of chipping. You can understand the love/hate now.
So that’s it for this month! If you’ve any questions please shout. You can check out my Sept Favourites video below. Thanks for reading!
