Lancome Teint Idole Ultra 24hr Foundation Review

Lancome Foundation
I was lucky enough to get a sample of this foundation from a boots counter.  I was matched to the shade 005 Beige Ivoire, their lightest shade (bet you’re surprised right?).   This foundation comes in 18 shades and retails for £28.50 from boots (other retailers available, that’s just where I got my sample from).

My Thoughts

I really did like this foundation.  The colour match was pretty close, but not close enough unfortunately.  It became noticeably different if I tried to build up the coverage from medium to full coverage.  In certain lighting it’s fine, in others it’s blatantly obvious.  I don’t want to risk looking mis-matched on my wedding day.
It is very light on the skin and it didn’t clog up my face or cause irritation.  It has a lovely texture and was really easy to apply.
This lasted really quite well, a good 6 hours before creasing appeared around my nose.  One annoying thing with this was that where it did crease and break up, I was unable to blend it back in.  It just melted off my face – not the best.  So I was left with patches on my face with no foundation.   Another issue I had was that it seemed to make my pores a bit more obvious on my nose when applied with the buffing brush.  To counteract this, I put a small amount of foundation on my nose and then blended it in with my finger!  Worked a treat.  You could apply this with a damp beauty sponge if you wanted a lighter coverage, however, as I was looking for fuller coverage it made more sense to use a buffing brush.   You can check out the video at the bottom to see how I’ve actually applied it.
I was also impressed with the lack of flashback and I didn’t look oily in the photos, just a tad glowy.  You can check out the photos below.  I have not set my face with any kind of powder.
In conclusion, I do like this foundation and could consider buying it if it came in my shade! I think it copes really well with oilier skin types, especially if you use a mattifying primer or set your foundation with powder.

Not bad on the flash back front at all!  I actually look darker, not lighter!
