So these are a few of the bits that I picked up in the month of February. I did get a voucher for boots so I unsurprisingly spent it! Plus some samples and a few product replacements…I may have bought some additional bits but I spent about £10 so, nothing too bad!
Lets dive in to the boring stuff. I bought a replacement bag of cotton balls from boots, I use these to remove my nail polish and I also bought some double sided cotton rounds, I prefer these over other brands I’ve tried. From Sainsburys I bought some large cotton squares from the Boutique line to replace the cotton ovals, they were better value – fingers crossed they aren’t scratchy! The candles you see are “Velvet Amber” and “Golden Fig”. I actually bought two boxes of each as they were on offer after valentines day. I’ve burnt some of the Velvet Amber and they are lovely! I also bought some hair pins from Superdrug, they were £2.50! I was a tad surprised, if you know somewhere cheaper please let me know! I got some cute hair ties and I’ve only a few black ones, I’ve heard this are great for not denting your hair, plus they looked lovely for spring!
I wanted to try some of the montagne jeunesse sheet masks, as they were on buy 4 for £3 in boots, I thought it was an opportune time to test them! So I bought a Glacial Clay Spa & a Dead Sea Mud Spa sheet mask, I added a Manuka Honey Peel Off mask and a Nut Oil mud mask. I was looking for the two part acne treatment mask but I couldn’t find it. Looking forward to trying these out!
From Aldi I thought I’d test out some of their Lacura skin care, I’m always on the hunt for bargain skin care. So I picked up a Clear Effect daily gel wash (which I’ll probably only use once or twice a week), a Day & a Night cream. This is a relatively new line to Aldi, it’s aimed at adult acne skin. I thought I’d also test out a face treatment oil for sensitive skin while I was there!
The final skin care item is the Clinique All About Eyes eyecream. I’m using my origins GinZing eyecream less as it’s giving me milia, so time to try out something else I think.
I finally got my hands on the 17 Wow Primer and 3 way highlighter, I’ve been hunting this down for months and it is rarely in stock in my local boots, so when I seen it, I grabbed it with both hands! From the new Barry M Silk collection I had to pick up this beautiful mint green in Meadow. I love the look of this, I very nearly bought the whole collection but reined myself in. The lipstick from Rimmel is As You Want It Victoria, which is a fabulous red, pink lipstick, you can watch the video for a swatch.
I managed to get a few foundation samples to test out – I’ve mentioned before I’m on the hunt for the perfect wedding foundation. I have DiorSkin Nude foundation in 010, Clinique Anti-blemish foundation in , a sample of the new foundation from Elizabeth Arden Flawless Finish Perfectly nude in Alabaster and finally from Lancome Teint Idole Ultra 24hr wear in 005. So I will let you know how I get on with those!
I won’t be buying any makeup in March as funds are a tad tight, but I will let you know how I get on with my new goodies!
