|August Beauty Favourites|
Time for monthly favourites and this month it has been all about the makeup, both new and old!
Due to my weekly makeup boxes I’ve been really forcing myself to test out more of my stash and this month has been a great month for rediscovering some great makeup items.

One rediscovered item that I surprised myself with is bareMinerals Ready Touchup Veil* in tinted. I’ve been using this as a bronzer type contour, doing the figure 3 on the outside of my face and a bit over the top of my forehead and down my neck. This is just tinted enough to act as a slight tan and it’s matte so it’s not drawing extra attention to those areas, it just warms my face up nicely! Another bareMinerals Ready product is the Luminizer The Shining Moment, which is unfortunately limited edition. I have generally been loving gold highlighters, so I’ve included the other two I’ve been reaching for as alternatives! Benefit’s Watt’s Up* cream stick highlighter is lovely, I tend to rub my finger over the top and then dab it onto my cheek to get a nice glow. From No7 is the Skin Illuminator* in Peach, this is is more fluid than Watt’s Up but it gives a very similar effect, a nice soft golden glow. Unsurprisingly I’ve used these three highlighters when I’ve been bronzing my face.
I’ve rediscovered my love of elf blushes, these two in particular, Tickled Pink and Candid Coral. These are so cheap and cheerful with great pigmentation, definitely a bargain. They do wear off slightly throughout the day however, as they’re so compact it’s very easy to pop them in your bag to touch-up if needed!
Finally for new products. From Max Factor I’ve been really enjoying using the Colour Corrector Stick for Under Eyes. I’ve been applying it after my primer but before my foundation and it really helps to brighten under my eyes. It doesn’t necessarily cancel out my blue-ness as much as I would like but it does help to wake that area up. If I need more coverage after I’ve applied my makeup I will use a salmon coloured concealer. The other new product that has actually surprised me is an Ultra Shine lip gloss from Model Co in Fairy Floss. This isn’t overly pigmented but it adds a nice hint of pink and a lovely shiny gloss to my lips. This isn’t particularly sticky which is often my main bugbear with lip gloss. So winner!
