September Favourites & Fail
Unsurprisingly I have a selection of mostly new additions for my September Favourites! Unfortunately I have one fail this month.
September Beauty Favourites & Fail
You may recognise some of these products from my August birthday haul or the mini High End & High Street haul that followed a few weeks later, I have fallen for a few of them, bet you’re surprised….. Let’s start with bases! I have the lovely Dior DiorSkin Nude foundation* in 010, I’ve reviewed this before and I still love this. It just helps to even everything out nicely, it doesn’t cause any of my breakouts to get worse, it lasts really nicely all day, applies lovely with a brush, all in all I love it! I’m also a fan of the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer*, I have the shade Chantilly which is perfect for under my eyes. This doesn’t crease under my eyes, lasts all day and brightens everything right up! I’ve been using it pretty much every day regardless, some days more than other, great for those days when I’m lacking sleep. This is another makeup item I’ve done a review on recently! Two mascaras I’ve been loving pairing up are Essence I Heart Extreme volume mascara and Maybelline The Rocket Volum’ Express* mascara. I get so much volume from this combination and great separation, I can also happily wear these on their own, but the combination makes me happy.
Favorites Lip Swatches
I have three lip favourites this month, Dior Addict limited edition lipstick* in 571 Windrose (left), Urban Decay Revolution lipstick* F Bomb (middle) and NARS Satin Lip Pencil* in Rikugein (right). For most of September I have alternated between my Dior lipstick and the NARS lip pencil. The Dior lipstick is lovely and creamy, I can blot this and apply a second layer and get great pigmentation, great everyday colour. The NARS lip pencil is another great everyday colour, not quite as pigmented as the Dior lipstick but it is so lovely to apply, it wears nicely and adds a nice shine to my lips. Both of these are great when I do something more colourful on my lids, they don’t detract from my eyes. F Bomb however is definitely a show stealer, this has epic pigmentation and wears so well! I of course wear this with a lip liner but this doesn’t go anywhere regardless. It lasts incredibly well and this is a great statement red lip. It’s lovely and creamy and very easy to apply.
The final product of the month is a fail, it’s the Clear Effect Mattifying Moisturiser from Lacura. This is from Aldi, I’ve been testing out a few skin care products from this line and unfortunately this doesn’t work particularly well. It is incredibly mattifying, which is good for those oily skin days, unfortunately though it means most of my foundations or bb creams are a nightmare to apply over the top. Even with a primer. It causes some of them to ball up on my skin, or go patchy throughout the day. Not ideal. I won’t be using this on days that I’m wearing moisturiser.
So that’s it for this month! You can check out the video below if you fancy. What have been your favourite products of the month? I’m always open to suggestions.
