I’ve been reaching for similar products recently, for those days when I’m in a rush and just want to get my face on, but still look “put together”. I have it down to a fine art, taking only about 20mins while drinking my tea.
I’ve been really enjoying my No7 Instant Illusions Airbrush Away Primer*, great for hydrating and evening out my skin texture. I then pop on my Smashbox Photo Finish Lid Primer* and let it settle while I did the rest of my face. I used the Dior Nude Skin Foundation*, I have raved about this before, you can read the review here, great medium coverage that’s light on my skin. I used the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer to brighten mainly around my tearduct (another review), then I set my face in place with the Urban Decay De-Slick Mattifying Powder*. Now on to eyes.
I took a peachy/pink colour from the Makeup Revolution Ultra 32 Shade Palette Flawless Matte* and swept it all over my eyelid, to set my eyelid primer. Then I mixed two shades to make my crease colour – the 3rd and 4th shades from the left, 2nd row up in the picture. For the main lid colour I used Sugar Violet from the Off The Wall Flowers* palette from Soap & Glory, all the way up to my crease and blended it out. On the outer third I used the Dandy Plum shade from the same palette. I made sure to keep it on my lid and brought it into my crease. I also took Dandy Plum on a liner brush and pressed it against my top lash line. With a pencil brush I swept Wild Blue along my lower lash line on the outer third, then I put a little bit of Dandy Plum over the top, just to help define my lower lash line. I took Minky on a blending brush and used it to highlight my tear duct and below my eyebrows. I used a single coat of the Rituals Volume Mascara on my top lashes and the Clinique Bottom Lash mascara* on the outer half of my lower lashes. For eyebrows I used the Soap & Glory Brow Archery Tint and Pencil* to fill in the gaps – only using the tint, I used the Benefit Gimme Brow* lightly through his brows.
To finish off my face, I used NYX blush in Taupe as my contour for the hallows of my cheeks and along my jawline. For blush I swept mac sheertone shimmery blush in Dollymix on the backs of my cheeks and lightly on the apples of my cheeks. I think decided to add a touch of highlighter – if you’re in a rush, skip this. I’ve been loving the Bourjois Java Rice Powder as a highlight along the tops of my cheeks, the centre of my nose and above the brows. I ended up using Revlon ColorBrust Balm Stain* in Lovesick, which I mostly blotted off, deciding upon the Urban Decay lipstick in Rush – it is one of the previous lines before the new lipstick formula was released, there is a new version* though! I set my face with the Urban Decay De-Slick Makeup Setting spray*.
