You may remember this little box from a recent haul, I’ve waited until now to test it all out! I was interested to play with this, especially as I had a bad experience with some of the eyeshadow quads in the past. I have to say I’m pleasantly surprised. I attempted to follow the guidelines from the back of the eyeshadow quad, which produced this smoky eye..well almost. I may have tweaked, adding the crease colour to the outer V and blending a few bits out more and using a mix of shadows to line my lower lash line.
The eyeshadows themselves are actually quite nicely pigmented, they apply nicely and blend well too. The highlight is very powdery, so be warned, expect fallout! The darkest shade, is also on the powdery side, but not as much fallout. They all swatch nicely. I was a wee bit disappointed with the crease colour, I expected a nice olive toned shade, but it just comes across as a bit of a brown shade.
I was actually super impressed with the So Couture Super Liner. It has a brush tip and it distributes the product pretty well, although if I attempted a nice light fine line, it did skip a bit. So more pressure required. It was quite easy to do this cat flick, which surprised me. I normally avoid liquid liners, I’m more of a gel and pencil girl, but I managed to do a pair of matching flicks quite easily. Win! My only negative, is that it’s not as opaque as I would like, you can see some of the eyeshadow through the liner, even though I’ve done over it a few times.
Lastly the mascara. This definitely required two coats to get decent volume. There was some clumping, but it was easily remedied. All in all, I am actually quite pleased with this wee gift box.
