It has taken me a while to whittle down my favourites from 2015. I wanted to pick products that really stood out in 2015, which is hard when you have lots of products that you love. I think I’ve done pretty well and narrowed it all the way down to 10! So let us get started shall we?
First up skin care. Vichy Normaderm Night Detox*, I have raved about this, I have repurchased repeatedly and I am still in love. I use this after I’ve toned in the evenings. It’s great for my blemish prone skin and manages to keep it under some sort of control, which is often amazing considering what I put my face through! A foundation that was mentioned in my favourites from 2014, but needs to be mentioned again, the Dior Nude Skin foundation*. I managed to completely finish off the last bottle and had to repurchase quite quickly as I wore it most days this year. I did try out and use other foundations, but this is the light coverage foundation I reach for when I need my skin to look and feel better. Love it.
For blush I have two stand out products for me. From Max Factor the Creme Puff Blushes* are wonderful. Great pigmentation and pay off on the skin, the blend really nicely, the last all day and the colours are just stunning. One of the blushes above is very flat at this point – they are domed when you buy them! They are just a wonderful blush, did I mention that they’re also high street prices? Win! The second blush is from Dior and its the Rosy Glow*. This blush changes colour slightly depending on the moisture of my skin. It is a pale pink on my face, it’s stunning. I always feel a million bucks when I wear it, did I mention that it gives me that natural pinkish flush to my cheeks? Basically I love it. While we’re on cheeks, the highlighter of the year for me, has to be Bourjois Java Rice Powder*. It is my most used this year, I’ve used it as a typical highlighter on the high points of my face, but I’ve also used it lightly all over my face, just to give it a nice glow. It’s simple and effective..it might replace my almost finished Hourglass Ambient Lighting powder…maybe.
Eyeliners of the year go to Jordana 12h Made to Last Liquid Liners. I have quite a few of these, they rock. They never tug at the skin, they are creamy, pigmented and a joy to apply. You can smug them out and they set down really well. Once they set, they’re are going nowhere. I prefer them over my Urban Decay 24/7 glide on pencils. Go find them now.
Finally for lips. Front and centre is the Rimmel Oh My Gloss* in Snog, I’ve worn this a huge amount in the second half of the year. It applies really well, it wears well, it isn’t a sticky mess – nobody enjoys their hair stuck to their lips. It’s so comfortable to wear and it’s a very “your lips but better” type of product. Love. Another gloss type product is the L’Oreal Infallible Mega Gloss, I have quite a few of these in various finishes – cream, matte and gloss. Love them all, I actually love them more than the Rimmel Oh My Gloss! I know! I was surprised too! I just love the formulas, there is a great variety of colour available, those that have colour are nicely pigmented. They also wear really well and are just a joy to use. Go investigate them if you haven’t! The last makeup product is my Estée Lauder Pure Colour Envy Sculpting Lipstick* in Powerful. These lipsticks are wonderful, they’re very creamy to apply, fantastic pigmentation and they wear very well. They are a dream and I want more!
The last favourite of the year has to be my Roots & Rituals Deep Conditioning Hair Oil. This oil has been the main product to help remedy my thoroughly damaged hair. Again, it’s a product I have raved about throughout the year, basically since I discovered it. If you have damaged hair, you need this in your life.
