I have some excellent new products to share with you in this month’s favourites! All are new to my collection, a lot of which you might remember from my Ireland Beauty Haul. Let’s start with the Eloquence Firming and Moisturising Eye Gel. I had incredibly dry eyelids, to the point where they were flaking slightly. I started using the gel and within a few days the skin had started to heal and within a week or so, they were fine again. This didn’t sting or irritate my eyes, which was a big relief! This is lovely and refreshing in the mornings and cooling in the evenings. Thoroughly enjoyed it! I’ve done a blog post all about the Eloquence range if you want more info.
I have also raved about the Flormar Perfect Coverage Concealer. This is a salmon toned concealer and works wonders on the blue and purple dark areas around my tearduct. It’s not heavy on the skin and doesn’t skin into the fine lines around my eyes. It’s also a bargain, so if you spot it in your local pharmacy / chemist or drugstore, pick it up! Again I’ve done a blog post reviewing it all so you can investigate that if you like. Very much in love with that concealer. Another product I’m loving, is the Catrice Even Skin Tone foundation. I’ve used this solid for most of March. It’s a medium coverage foundation and applies really nicely with the Real Techniques complexion sponge. It does give a nice even coverage and is slightly buildable, however I prefer to use concealer on any blemishes. I find it lasts most of my day, with only some breakdown around the oily areas of my face. If you want to see before and after photos you can check out the review post. To blend in my concealer I’ve been using the W7 Mini Power Puff sponges. They’re the perfect size to blend in under eye concealer and the edges of blemish concealer. I also use the rounder end in some setting powder and use that to set all the concealer on my face, as well as my nose and any other oily prone areas.
I have been loving the essence All About Greys eyeshadow palette*, the taupe grey is beautiful on the lids, which is just below the blue grey – also a stunning colour. These have great pigmentation and wear well throughout the day. I’ve played with all the shades and I am thoroughly impressed. Did I mention that these are also a bargain!? Winner.
For highlighter I’ve been using the Catrice High Glow Mineral Highlighting Powder majority of the time, it actually has me highlighting my face practically everyday – something I was out of the habit of doing. This highlighter is so soft and and applies beautifully. It doesn’t look textured on my skin and adds a beautiful glow. Love. I did attempt to swatch it in the photo below, but it didn’t really show up – it’s at the top edge of my hand, maybe you can see it better.
I have been thoroughly enjoying my eyebrows, which may sound odd but I always had an issue dealing with my tadpole shaped brows. They’re like that naturally and until Siobhan got her hands on me, I could just never get them to sit the way I wanted. After seeing how Siobhan did them, it made much more sense and I rushed out and bought the Catrice Eye Brow Stylist in Date with Ash-ton. Which as the name suggests, is an ashy brown. It applies well and does a great job of filling in my brows, plus it has a spoolie on one end, so all very convenient. The last bit of makeup is the Flormar waterproof lipliner in No. 229. This is a wonderful pinky nude, I’ll either wear this under a nude-ish lipstick, like mac Hot Gossip, or I’ll pop it on under a clear gloss. It helps keep my lipstick in place all day and it’s so soft and creamy to apply. Did I mention it’s a bargain as well? Love it.
My last favourite is the Black Musk Eau De Toilette* from The Body Shop. I picked this up at a Drops of Youth event back at the start of the year. I love it! It’s just the right balance of sweet and musky. It almost reminds me of Hugh Boss Deep Red. It’s a hard one to describe. Definitely give it a sniff when you’re next in The Body Shop!
So those are my favourite products for the month of March!
