Catrice 3D Lash Multimizer

Catrice Volumizier Mascara

It’s always handy to have a good waterproof mascara in your arsenal, living in England, its safe to say that the weather can be pretty changeable.  Stunningly warm one day, wet and dreary the next.  So in keeping with that I thought I’d share the latest waterproof mascara for you!  This is the 3D Lash Multimizer Effect Mascara from Catrice, which retails for €4,45.  Not a bad price at all.

So let’s dig in to the review.  You can see from the first coat on my top lashes that it adds a great deal of volume, bit of a win.  Sadly though it adds quite a few clumps too.  You can see it more obviously on my left eye – some of the lashes were thoroughly stuck together.  This mascara doesn’t layer up particularly well.  I had to comb through my lashes just to separate them enough so I could apply the second coat.  Again it adds even more volume!  Win.  It required about 10minutes of combing through to separate my lashes enough – I honestly looked as if I’d five fat lashes at one point.  I was tempted to leave it but I had videos to record…plus it was incredibly irritating, I had to comb them through.  So great volume but huge amounts of clumping.

Catrice 3D Lash Multimizer Applied

This has a plastic wand with stubby bristles.  Something I’m not the biggest fan of, it means I have to get the brush in tight to my lashes.   This in turn means that I end up with mascara all over my eyelids.  Not ideal if you’ve spent any length of time on your eye look.  This also smudges along my lower lid pretty quickly, I mean within about 2 hours.  I do struggle to find a mascara that does not smudge under my eyes, but this looks awful!  Which in turns means I end up looking more tired, even when I’m not!  I can’t confirm or deny if it helps to hold a curl, I’ve a decent amount of curl in my lashes naturally.  I’ve had this open almost two months and it has really thickened up, although this has been clumpy from the start – it’s not a recent addition.  I’m just pointing out that it may not necessarily have the full 3 month life span.  All in all, I wouldn’t rush out to repurchase this.  I love so many other products from Catrice, I knew I couldn’t win them all.  What’s your favourite waterproof mascara?
