I got this mask in a goody bag from The Body Shop, the timing was impeccable. I have the been testing out other skin care – I mentioned in the ekia skin care review post that I had issues with some clogged pores. So when I discovered I had the Chinese Ginseng & Rice Clarifying Polishing Mask*, well I could’ve high-fived someone. Before we get too far in, let’s talk details.
This costs £15 for 75ml, which isn’t too bad. I’ve already done about 5 or 6 masks at this point and I have made a dent but I still have a good 75& left. Let’s have a wee bit of the blurb
Blended with rice & ginseng extracts from China and organic Community Trade sesame seed oil from Nicaragua…Give your skin a new lease of life with our Chinese Ginseng & Rice Clarifying Polishing Mask. Inspired by Chinese traditions, we’ve blended ginseng extract, rice extract and sesame seed oil into our 100% vegetarian creamy exfoliating mask, that’s been formulated without parabens, paraffin, silicone or mineral oil. Use two to three times a week to reveal brighter-looking, even and supple feeling skin. For skin that needs an intense treatment to remove dullness and unevenness. Illuminates, evens and revitalises skin
As you can see, the mask is quite textured. I apply my facial beard (my husband’s name for this), as this is the area I’ve most issue with clogged pores and uneven skin. I apply it, leave it for about 15minutes to dry. Before washing it off, I rinsed my hands and with my wet hands I gently exfoliate my face. This helps to loosen the mask. I then rinse it off. I make sure to apply either an oil of a moisturiser after.
I do notice an immediate difference with this mask. My skin looks much brighter and healthier without any redness. It has been working wonders at unclogging my skin, it feels much less congested. I have been using it regularly and it is gradually decreasing the number of clogged pores I’m getting, the texture of my skin, well it’s much better. I have had a few spots where the blackheads have become unblocked, but they disappear pretty quickly. I’m so close to my skin settling down, so I will be doing a few more of these masks before I do anything new to my skin! I’d definitely recommend checking this out, I’ll have to check out more of the line.
