So this week, as you’ve probably guessed, myself and Alana are creating looks based on the classic Christmas colours – red, gold, green and silver. You need to go check out Alana’s she was super excited about it and now I’m keen to see what she has created!! You can find Alana’s post here over on A Rose for Epona – it goes live at 9am. I’ve stuck with the red, gold and green and kept it mostly simple…I can finally wear lashes again, so those appeared! In this post I’m going to focus on the eyes, you can always watch the video to see more about my base, contour and highlight. On a random side note, I’ve decided I should have soft boxes wherever I go, I mean look how blue my eyes are!
I swept Wet n Wild Brulee all over the top of my lid primer. Just in and above my crease I used NYX Strike a Pose (similar*) for my transition shade. I took Stila Kitten on a small brush and used that as my inner corner highlight and on the inner third of my top lid. I then took Urban Decay Half Baked and used this on almost all of the outer two thirds, leaving a small amount of space available at the very outer edge of my lid. Then taking Look shadow in Khaki (no longer available, look for a mossy, khaki green), I took it from my lashes to the crease in that small amount of free space. I then worked it into my crease. I slowly built up the green and blended.
I used the L’Oreal Super Liner to create a winged liner. I decided to top off the eyes with a set of Nouveau lashes in the Glamour / Style 1. I think they helped it all look more festive and give me more of a doll eyed look. I used my NYX Doll Eye mascara over my own lashes, just to help them all blend together more and of course on my lower lashes.
I used the green along the out third of my lower lash line and then used a blend of the two golds for the inner two thirds. I also added a touch more gold to my top lid with the Jane Iredale 24 Karat Gold Dust powder, just for that extra sparkle! My red lip is the L’Oreal Color Riche Exclusive Reds in Blake
This is a great classic look that I’ve not worn for a long time. I’m really pleased I decided to do it as part of the Colours of Christmas collab! If you want, you can check out the first look here: Alternative Eye look and the second look here: Snow Fairy. I’ve included links to Alana’s posts in those too. What are your classic go to Christmas looks? Are you more of a silver person?
