We’re onto the fourth look as part of the Colours of Christmas! I’m doing this collab with the wonderful Alana from A Rose for Epona, I can’t wait to see what she’s posting, you can check out Alana’s post here. Very excited! You can see look one | look two | look three – just click on those links. We’ll do one more look for New Years.
I decided, to do this look for those of us that head out to the office party straight after work, or if you’ve a family gathering and you want to be a bit fancy but nothing too over the top. Lots of highlight required! Well, some anyway. I love how this turned out, although next time, use some liner over the lashes people…not sure what happened the head there!
As you can see in the picture below, the lash band is just about visible. So break out the pencil and just run if over the lash line. Annoyingly, I didn’t spot it until the edit. Will you forgive me this time?
For primer I used the Clarins Instant Smooth Perfecting Touch* to prime my face and the Benefit Air Patrol Eye Primer all over my lids. For foundation I’ve used L’Oreal True Match Foundation* for my base. To help colour correct under my eyes I’ve used Flormar Under eye concealer and I brightened with Seventeen Stay Time Concealer*. I baked under my eyes with NYX HD Studio Finishing Powder. To conceal my blemishes I used the Bobbi Brown concealer* (Mine is from the pro kit, but it’s the same as this one).
To contour I used the classic NYX blush* in Taupe and the Max Factor Creme Puff blush* in Gorgeous Berries. I highlighted my cupids bow, cheeks and high points of my forehead with the Catrice High Glow Mineral Highlighting Powder.
As you can see I’ve kept the eyes super simple. I’m using the Essence All About Roses* palette for the entire eye look. I swept the pale shade all over the lid. Then the bottom, second from the right shade in the crease. I used the top, second from the left shade all over the lid. Of course blending as we go. I look the top right shade along my top lash line and the outer third of my lower lash line. I used the top left shade to highlight under my brows and the inner corner. Then I popped on a set of Nouveau Lashes Strip Lashes Natural | Style 2, just for a touch of drama. For mascara I used the Clarins Supra Volume Mascara* on top and bottom lashes. I filled in my brows with my long time favourite, NYX Micro Brow Pencil.
I decided that a good way to vamp up a day look is by adding a statement lip, so handy. You can pop a set of lashes and some lipstick into your makeup bag, perfect way to take a day look through to the evening. The lipstick I went with is the Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick* in Va Va Violet. Of course I swept my Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder* in Ethereal Light, I think I use it every time I do my face! I finished up by spritzing my face with the NYX Matte Setting Spray. That’s us, ready to go.
